This year, instead of grabbing my usual free donut from Krispy Kreme, I went to a nearby local favorite Texas Donuts to get their giant donut. Also I couldn’t resist getting the cronut. This day marks my first time trying a croissant-donut, and I gotta admit…it is pretty amazing. The texture is wonderful–crispy and flaky on the outside, and a nice chewy dough once you bite through the crispy surface.
As for the giant Texas Donut, I honestly didn’t expect for it to taste so good. It did not taste overly sweet and the dough was just perfect and chewy. I am definitely a fan. They have locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and here in Virginia.
