Are you a chocolate lover? This is hands-down the best place to get hot chocolate in Philadelphia. It’s located on a corner in the Italian Market. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a husband and wife owned shop, and you can tell they put a lot of love into what they do. This place a great for a date, for friends who just want to go out and have fun and enjoy a decadent drink, or for anyone who want to treat themselves. The drinks are a little on the expensive side for hot chocolate, but if you consider what you’re paying for…it’s very much worth it. All drinks are prepared by the shop owner himself. Every guest gets special treatment as he puts on a little show for them when he makes the drinks right in front of them.
I’ve been wanting to go here for so long, but just never got the opportunity to. I finally went here on the perfect occasion. It was my last week living in Pennsylvania before moving to Virginia. My friend and I wanted to see each other before I moved. This was the perfect place. The whole experience from beginning to end was memorable and marvelous. The whole place is very cozy…kind of like stepping into someone’s home.
We both ordered the Marshmello Brulee, picked out some truffles, and of course we couldn’t leave without trying the cannoli. Everything was presented in a simple and elegant way. Truly a treat indeed. I couldn’t wait to indulge in all this greatness.
Does that not look amazing? If you love smores, you will really enjoy this drink. Lovely rich, dark chocolate, not too overly sweet, and topped with caramelized caramel on top of fired toasted marshmallow. Price? about $14 for a glass of this delicious hot chocolate. There are also less pricier drinks on their menu, and also coffees and teas to choose from. Their cannolis are pretty good and the truffles decent. This place would be great for the fall and winter time, when you’re looking for a warm, cozy drink. There are iced versions of the items on the menu, though, if you don’t feel like drinking something hot. I would definitely come back for a treat again, if I’m ever back in the Italian Market area.
